The Problem:
University graduation ceremonies attract large numbers of attendees, creating a high demand for reliable Wi-Fi connectivity. The existing infrastructure needed enhancement to support the high density of users during both summer and winter events.

What I Did:
As project manager, I oversaw the setup of high-density access points (APs) to ensure seamless Wi-Fi connectivity for guests. Key responsibilities included:

  • Conducting a site survey to identify optimal AP placements for maximum coverage and performance.
  • Collaborating with IT staff and vendors to source and install high-density APs.
  • Coordinating with event organizers to align the Wi-Fi setup with the ceremony layout and guest flow.
  • Testing and optimizing the network prior to each event to ensure reliability.
  • Providing on-site support during the ceremonies to address any connectivity issues promptly.

The Outcome:
The project was executed successfully for both summer and winter graduation events, delivering:

  • Reliable Wi-Fi coverage across the event venues, enhancing the experience for graduates and their guests.
  • Positive feedback from attendees and organizers for the seamless connectivity.
  • A scalable solution that could be adapted for future large-scale university events.
